If I were to pick somebody to care for my loved one, whether it be my son or my mother, my grandmother, I would want somebody that's knowledgeable, that has the experience, that's been around in this type of work for a while.
I help a lot of clients with physical therapy, therapy, occupational therapy, and if they're well and they can walk, I have them engage with me in the cooking. And as far as me personally, I'm a very healthy person.
So right away after I finished my classes, I went to work for Grossmont Hospice, and I was a registered nurse's helper. I take ongoing body mechanics classes, dementia classes, Alzheimer's.
In the beginning, back when I took the home health CNA class, I got very interested in hospice work.

So I was able to work anywhere in St. Louis, Missouri, where I wanted to. So that was kind of fun. I like caring for people, so it just became part of me. When I moved here, I did private duty.

My background is China. I used to be a senior teacher teaching school in college. Then I retired at 50.
At the very beginning, I worked for the facility full-time for one year and a half. And then now I work for the facility part-time, only once a week.
I work with them happy, very happy. I really go to them and happy with them. My patients are very happy.
